Left 4 Dead PC patch reclosing doors in ‘Crash Course’ DLC [update]

October 11th, 2009

Aside from fixing pressing issues like "campaign image not updating correctly when creating a lobby" and increasing "the reliability of the Steam Group server display," Valve's recently released PC patch updates a crucial issue with Left 4 Dead's latest DLC: keeping doors closed. Apparently, during Versus mode in the game's "Crash Course" DLC, players were able to release teammates from "rescue closets," assuredly stopping rampant R. Kelly syndrome. The game may be fixed, but will that cure your urge to micturate on people? Only time will tell.

Latest L4D Patch Adds Falcon Novint Support

September 3rd, 2009

Now everyone can enjoy the Left 4 Dead experience using the Novint Falcon which allows players to feel realistic weapon recoil, enemy attacks, and interactions with the environment, including a variety of specialized forces. With the Novint Pistol Grip accessory the First Person Shooter gaming experience gets even more immersive.

“As both the reviews and the sales figures show, Valve’s Left 4 Dead has been an absolute hit, and it is one of our strongest Falcon supported titles to date,” said Novint CEO Tom Anderson. “The Falcon makes the experience of being attacked by Zombies ultra-realistic, and it has been our most popular title with our early testers. We’re very excited to add Left 4 Dead to our ever-expanding list of Falcon-compatible titles.”

Lobby Browser Added to Left 4 Dead

July 16th, 2009

Valve released a Left 4 Dead patch, adding a lobby browser to the multiplayer-focused co-op shooter and very few other changes to the PC version of the game. The Xbox 360 version remains unchanged to date.

“The lobby browser (under Play Online) will show you a list of optimal games available for you to join,” writes Valve. “The browser pares down the thousands of lobbies and games currently being played to show you the best list of games available to you.” “This list includes official and add-on campaigns, including add-on campaigns you have not yet installed, making it a great way to discover them. You can filter by difficulty, official and/or add-on campaigns and by lobbies and/or games in progress.”
