You’ve got to see this incredibly scary, hilarious Left 4 Dead video of the Survivors taking on 100 Witches. There’s also an amazing sequence where they all get lit on fire and startled by a pipebomb. A must see.

- After startling a witch, run off an edge so that you “hang” the witch will target you but do no damage. It’s an easy kill after that, but your teammates will still have to pick you up and you’ll take 10-20 “hanging” damage.
- If the witch is on a raised area along with your team, line it up so that there is a “fall spot” between you and the witch. Like the catwalks on early Blood Harvest 2 or the roof on No Mercy 3, she will fall off and give you time to make some distance.

From an interview on Edge, Valve’s stated that they’re “struggling with how interoperability is going to work” in the game. This relates to each map having dialog specific to individual characters, and for Valve, that means recording all new dialog with the new Left 4 Dead 2 cast. While Valve’s quick to state they’re not against doing that, it raises a question about whether or not they’ll go the other way and record Left 4 Dead 2 cast in Left 4 Dead situations (if L4D2 players want to play L4D campaigns with the new characters).
It seems Left 4 Dead has been, err… left for dead after the release of Left 4 Dead 2. Left 4 Dead 2 fans will be able to enjoy all the campaigns of Left 4 Dead and then some, but the old group will be alone in the cold.

Not bad, we’d gladly pay $7 for a full movie to one of our favorite games… but there’s a catch. It’s NOT a full movie. It’s 2 chapters of a movie, where normally a Left 4 Dead movie is 5 chapters long. What gives? This feels like the “deleted content” from Valve’s archives, not the carefully, meticulously designed levels that we thought we’re coming.
I’m still happy that we’ll have more Left 4 Dead to play, but I wish Valve cared a bit more. I would be fine if they bundled the best of the best fan content and sold that to me on my Xbox 360, as there is no way to play the user-created content outside of the PC. I suppose this will tide people over until November, when Left 4 Dead 2 comes out. But it feels a little cheap. If people really want a 20-30 min. Versus experience, why not just start on one of the later chapters?

PC owners will get it free, but Xbox 360 players will need to pay $7 (560 Microsoft Points) for the campaign. Within the campaign, players can expect “new locations, new dialogue from the original cast, and an explosive finale.” Valve also stated that Crash Course is meant to bridge the gap between “No Mercy” and “Death Toll” storywise, and includes new Survival maps.
