For those having trouble taking out Left 4 Dead’s witches, check out this witch killing guide. Lots of useful tips including:
- After startling a witch, run off an edge so that you “hang” the witch will target you but do no damage. It’s an easy kill after that, but your teammates will still have to pick you up and you’ll take 10-20 “hanging” damage.
- If the witch is on a raised area along with your team, line it up so that there is a “fall spot” between you and the witch. Like the catwalks on early Blood Harvest 2 or the roof on No Mercy 3, she will fall off and give you time to make some distance.
- You can use propane tanks for the same effect of the pipe bomb that I show in the video.
- It’s generally a bad idea to use fire if the witch is already startled unless you are very far away. Sometimes fire can lead to multiple “aggros” and will result in 2 or more downed survivors.
- The witch’s “death claw” is area-of-effect. If you stand too close to a victim then you will go down too!
- Don’t stand in the witch’s path either if she is chasing someone, she will push you once or twice but if you are still in her way then she will 1-shot you too!
